the Disney + The web interface has received a minor update, now showing the rating, year, and running time of movies when viewed through the search feature.
What is happening:
- Disney + subscribers can now quickly see the movie rating, year of production, and running time when they use the search feature on the web version of the streaming service.
- In the comparison photo above, you can see that the results widen the presentation of the search results, giving more space between the tiles to present the information.
- For TV shows, the TV rating and year are shown, but the runtime is not listed as it varies by episode.
- At present, the useful function is only available when searching for a title. In this case, we searched for “Star warsâ, But from the home screen or the collections pages the platform looks the same as before.
- This new feature is good news for families with young children, who can now decide whether or not to select a title before clicking on it.
- The mobile app already had this same functionality, which gives additional details on the side of each tile.
- We have yet to see this feature roll out to streaming boxes like Apple TV, Roku, or Chromecast.
- It’s unclear if this feature will stay in the search function or if it will expand to show other places, such as the home page and collection pages.
