ARCADIA, Wis. (WXOW) -Habitat for Humanity said Tuesday they had started the process of finding its first owner to build a house in Trempealeau County.
Together with the City of Arcadia, Habitat has a lot to develop and plans to begin construction on the house next spring.
“It’s amazing to start connecting with a new community. Everyone in Arcadia and Trempealeau County gave their support, ”said Kahya Fox, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity in the La Crosse region. “We have a group of dedicated citizens who will be instrumental in building the first Habitat home in Trempealeau County.
There are two ways for those interested to get more details about the application process. The application file is available online at the Habitat website, or people can attend one of the two scheduled information sessions. The premiere will take place Thursday, October 28 at 5 p.m. and Saturday, October 30 at 10 a.m. at the Ashley Boardroom at the Wanek Center in Arcadia.
According to Habitat information, once the owner is selected, Habitat will work with the community to organize volunteers and plan events that will culminate with the home’s completion in fall 2022.
