Netflix Secret Codes: A Tip to Get Out of the Endless Scroll of Movies

Netflix has thousands of titles in its catalog, but the scrolling is grueling.

Veteran streaming service Netflix Houses movies, documentaries and original shows worthy of frenzy like Strange things, The crown, Shadow and bone and Spirit hunter. To help subscribers sort through thousands of options, Netflix uses recommendation algorithms to highlight shows and movies that match your profile’s viewing history.

But your preferences may be a bit more specific than Trending, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Horror, or Winners titles. Depending on what you’ve watched, Netflix’s recommendation algorithm may have buried the perfect movie or show. If so, Netflix codes can help you filter the onslaught of content to find more compelling recommendations than the usual fare.

What you need to know about Netflix codes

Netflix codes – while not a new discovery – are based on a numbering system the service uses to categorize movies and shows by genre and subgenre. Note that the codes can only be redeemed on the Netflix website, not in its apps.

This is what you will see when you visit the Netflix Codes website.
